This year’s Lycoming County Veterans Parade will be held in Jersey Shore, PA on November 8th. The parade will start at 2pm from Bastress and Allegheny Streets and head south to Broad Street.
The parade is taking place to honor all deceased veterans and welcome back our veterans who have faithfully served our country here and abroad. We recognize the sacrifices of those who have carried the torch of freedom throughout our history and reflect on the contributions of our wounded, our missing, our fallen and their families.
The parade is honored to have the Pennsylvania Mounted State Police, the Repasz Band, Local High School Bands and many more entries in the parade that will vie for the most patriotic entry that will win a $1000 prize that will be donated in the winning entry’s name to the PA. Wounded Warriors.
This year’s Grand Marshall is Charles Libby, one of the final living World War ll Veterans from the 628th Tank Destroyer Battalion.
Emcee will be Ken Sawyer, Radio Personality and Vietnam Veteran.
There will be a prayer, 21 Gun Salute, Echo Taps performed in front of the judging stand that will be on the corner of Wilson and Allegheny Sts.
Volunteers will be handing out commerative booklets, flags and T-shirts.
The parade is made possible thru the generous contributions of many businesses.
